The grapes used are the usual Corvina 40%, Corvinone 30% and proportions of Rondinella, Molinara as well as the local but little know Oseleta and Croatina. Only 5000 bottles are produced of the Stelar Valpolicella Classico and 3500 of the Classico Superiore.
Very intense ruby red color, dark. The nose is variegated, and the aromas that are felt evolve continuously after the bottle has been uncorked. First there are notes of ripe red fruit and spices, which then turn to herbaceous and floral. In the mouth it is persistent, very silky on the palate, with a not too high sugar residue that contributes to make the flavor of the acacia berries.
Amarone Valpolicella Classico Rosson
Laura Albertini and her husband Cristiano own this very small Estate of almost 3 hectares with 2 hectares of high vineyards grown on hard prun rock in Torbe and another hectare near their home in Marcellise north east of Verona. The wines produced (they also produce an outstanding Amarone) are totally uncompromising with no half measures, the wines are totally dry and full of individual character.
