Tasting notes
Luminous yellow-gold color with streaks of emerald, striking clarity. A cheery, upbeat nose opens with generous scents of lemon peel, pear, mandarin orange, hints of musk and rock, traces of hazelnut. On the palate, the wine shows the smooth power and lean muscularity you associate with an Olympic swimmer. Finishes with delicious, subtlely bitter recollections of citrus, nuances of wild herbs and licorice. An arrestingly soulful, unique wine.

Monte di Grazia Bianco

At the beginning of the 90s against the trend in vogue in the countryside of Tramonti by the owners, farmers, sharecroppers and many young people to abandon the land, Alfonso Arpino decides to begin to realize an old dream, that of cultivating the earth and, in particular, the vine. He is not a farmer, but he is a lover of agriculture: the income from the land has allowed him to study and somehow he feels he must give something back to the land. He goes in search of the truest and most typical rural traditions, learns to be a farmer, listening to the stories and experiences of old farmers. He immediately chooses to respect the earth and nature, practicing organic farming.
Thus was born the idea of setting up a farm to manage about one hectare of family vineyard, located on the slopes of the “Monte di Grazia”, which then gave the company its name. In 1996, Alfonso and Anna, his wife, bought a vineyard, a chestnut grove, a coppice forest and a ruin of an old rural building in Casina-Corsano. Subsequently, the latter was renovated with contributions from the European Fund, participating in the “Green Pact” project of the Lattari Mountains “, hosting the cellar on the ground floor and a typical dwelling on the upper floor. At the beginning of the 2000s, they also bought the “Vignarella” vineyard of about 3000 square meters in the Torina-Gete area. In the meantime, the vineyards, “Madonna del Carmine” and “Casa Mario”, owned by the family, for years run by sharecroppers, are also managed on their own.
The total vineyard area is about 27000 square meters and consists of 5 plots located in different areas of the Tramonti area.
Today, his children are in charge of the company full-time, to whom Alfonso passed on his passion for making wine and love for the land.
