A bright ruby-red in colour. Aromas of ripe black cherries, pepper and liquorice. On the palate, warm and full-bodied with lush red fruit flavours and ripe tannins. The finish is long with further spicy notes. Drink with roast suckling pig, spaghetti dressed with artichokes and olive oil or a chunk of Pecorino Sardo.
The estate is situated in the small village of Mamoiada in the mountainous region of Barbagia in Eastern Sardinia and was purchased by Giuseppe and Grazia Sedilesu in 1985. There are 15 hectares in all – mostly Cannonau but also a little white Granazza. The vines are planted on granitic soil at an elevation of 800 metres above sea level and everything is organic. This intensely aromatic red is 100% Cannonau and spends 24 months in old oak barrels before release.
