The estate of Monte Dall’Ora is owned by Alessandra and Carlo Venturini and is located at Castellroto, in the hills outside Verona. The vineyards are planted on limestone soil and form a natural amphitheatre facing southeast towards the city. Various parcels of the vineyards are planted on ancient dry stone terraces called marogna in which fossils and petrified shells can be found and which allow for excellent drainage and deep penetration of the vines. The Venturinis are firm adherents to biodynamic principles and encourage the growth of biodiversity by planting herbs such as rosemary and lavender in the summer to attract bees and by sowing cereals in the winter, the roots of which aerate the soil. In addition, indigenous grape varieties are employed wherever possible.
