Tasting notes
A lively straw-coloured wine, full of light, rich in both acidity and body, which is now prominent in the aniseed and citrus notes typical of Collestefano. Green straw-colored full of light, the perfume is very pure with vegetal notes of ginger and cardamom, and fruity notes of unripe walnut. The palate combines the typical electric freshness of Collestefano with a remarkable fruit dowry. Long, modulated finish of ginger and sweet almond. By maturing in the bottle it will acquire a metallic, honeyed and candied citrus character of great finesse, without losing the proverbial dynamism that has made it the cult wine par excellence of the whole denomination. Great on seafood, amazing on raw foods.

Verdicchio di Matelica DOC

Valle Camertina central Marche.
The only valley in the region to be closed to the sea, the only one with a temperate climate. Collestefano is immersed in its own vineyards above Castelraimondo at 450 meters. Around, only countryside.
If you get there blindfolded and then open your eyes you think you are out of this world.
A story of family redemption, that of the Marchionni, now owners of Collestefano. Always farmers, the Marchionni come here, in Rustano di Castelraimondo (MC), in the Verdicchio di Matelica valley, in the 60s of the twentieth century. The hard work led to the purchase in 1978 of this small village in the middle of the hill, which has always been called “Collestefano”.
In 1998 Fabio Marchionni, son of the owners, newly graduated in Oenology, bottled the first vintage of Verdicchio di Matelica.
In Matelica it is the beginning of a small, new era.
In Collestefano, organic has always been practiced, and since 1995 it is also certified. The vineyard is part of a larger self-sufficient and balanced ecological system.
The soil is fed exclusively with organic fertilizer, minimizing the use of copper.
Carried out exclusively by hand, the harvest is a celebration shared with university students who help the Marchionni family.
A new cellar, which allows you to carry out all the main gravity operations, following a traditional vinification and with the utmost respect for the product of origin.
And with a minimal use of sulfur dioxide, far below the legal limits allowed.
Wines clear in expression and pure as crystals, excellent immediately and capable of prodigious improvements in the bottle.
A friendly relationship with collaborators and buyers.
A pricing policy based on reasonableness.
Making wines with a value that has few rivals.
Beyond the myth of duty and the drift of pleasure as the consumption of money, work as a synthesis of duty and pleasure.
Working while having fun, having fun to work, to express your talent and personality.
