Vernaccia di San Gimignano “Tradizionale”
San Gimignano is a medieval hilltop town in Tuscany, known for the historic white wine from the ancient native grape, Vernaccia di San Gimignano. It was the first Italian wine to receive DOC status (1966) and is also the only white DOCG in Tuscany. Traditionally, the wines were fermented as if they were red grapes, with skin contact and aged in large old wood casks. The Montenidoli vineyard occupies 24 hectares on the slopes of the hill west of the medieval town of San Gimignano. The Tradizionale follows the “old tradition” of production and with extraction.
